The Gingerbread Kitchen
This is the Gingerbread Kitchen... my vision of the North Pole building where the elves live and work in a storybook style gingerbread house and spend their days creating the gingerbread houses for Christmas. The elves work on the main floor and their dormitory is on the second floor. It took about a year to build this piece and I loved every minute of it! Talk about creating your own reality.
This piece includes the work of many exceptional miniature artisans. The elf dolls were created especially for this piece by Jane Davies. The kitchen cabinets are the work of Ken Byers of Shaker Works West. All of the stoneware pieces were custom made with a reindeer design, including the kitchen sink, by Jane Graber. Other pieces are by Ray Storey, Edward Norton, Karen Markland, Maureen Thomas, Lola's, Carl Bronsdon, David Krupick, Jason Getzan, Pierre Wallack, Lara Copper, Annie Willis, Amanda Skinner, Al Chandronnait, Taller Targioni, Sir Thomas Thumb, Wendy Francisco and Scott Hughes.
The Gingerbread Kitchen is on display, seasonally, as part of the Kathleen Savage Browning Miniatures Collection at the Kentucky Gateway Museum Center in Maysville, Kentucky.
